Getting Bob Ross art supplies to you in the UK depends upon a large and complex supply chain, much of it based in the US. As a result, when a storm one-third the size of the USA rolls in, dumping 2-ft of snow on Chicago and bringing much of the country to a halt, it has an impact on our ability to deliver authentic Bob Ross paintbrushes and palettes to you.

First things first: most of the range is in stock, sitting in a warehouse in North London. Unfortunately a few products aren’t available. Some of our orders from the US are delayed, some orders we’ve already placed are not being fulfilled. For items that are not in stock it may be a few weeks before the next shipment of containers make it to New York and then across the Atlantic.

In the event that we are unable to fulfill a complete order for which payment has been received, we’ll let you know immediately. You can then choose to receive a full refund and all of the goods at a later date, or get what’s in stock now, with the rest to follow.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience this causes and hope you can bear with us whilst the factories in the US, in some cases quite literally, dig themselves out and work through the backlog.

The Good.

Art Supplies IT is growing, despite the tough economic climate, and we will soon be moving in to a new warehouse on the outskirts of London to cope with the increased demand for our products. Between now and Christmas we expect a host of new product lines to appear on the site, widening our offering to include staples of the art and design industry.

Tha Bad.

Changes afoot mean that the site will need some tweaking in preparation for future growth, resulting in some downtime. We anticipate that in the coming months the site will be down for a short amount of time. We are now co-ordinating the logistics of the upscaling of our operation so that the warehouse move and site update coincide. We will strive to ensure that the disruption of service for our customers is minimised.

The snowstorms in the US meant that containers full of Bob Ross Paints, Brushes, Books, DVDs and Easels had been delayed and our warehouses in the UK were running low on inventory. The ships have sailed, containers of art supplies been delivered and we are happy to once again offer a full range of Bob Ross art supplies.

Dear All,

We reported earlier that users had been experiencing problems with the Checkout / Payment process, specifically that the checkout page had simply been refreshing instead of taking shoppers to the PayPal payment ‘gateway’ (more detail can be found here).

This issue is now resolved. It was caused by an update in the e-commerce system we use which reconfigured shipping options in the back-end of our shop. In the long-term this should mean that we are able to offer orders on an international basis, dynamically calculating shipping prices for different countries, and automatically offering discounts for bulk orders. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Dear All,

We’re having some technical problems with the site at the moment. Specifically with the checkout and payment process. The errors being experienced usually follow the pattern below:

> Successful population of the Shopping Cart with items

> On the ‘Verify your Order‘ page ‘Billing/Contact‘ details and ‘Shipping details‘ are successfully populated in the text fields

> When the ‘Make Purchase‘ button at the bottom of the page is clicked, instead of taking you to the payment screen, the page simply refreshes

We are aware of this issue and working on a fix. There appears to be a bug in the latest version of the e-commerce plugin we use on the site. This is free and open-source software, and this issue is being experienced by other online shops who use this e-commerce solution. Rest assured we are working around the clock to resolve the issue and will post an update as soon as we’ve fixed the problem.

In future we hope to dynamically update stock levels on a regular basis so that it won’t be possible to order an item we don’t have. For now please bear with us, we’re offering prompt refunds through PayPal to anybody whose order we are unable to fulfill. This is the coldest winter for many part of Europe and the US in 40 years – why not go out and enjoy the cold weather whilst you wait for you art supplies to arrive?
